Oral Conscious Sedation
With oral conscious sedation, Dr. Wagner will prescribe an anti-anxiety medication for you to take at a designated time before your appointment. Once you take the medicine, you’ll need to have a friend or family member drive you to your appointment and back home. This medication will leave you feeling relaxed and calm, so you can arrive at our office and sit through your appointment without any worries. You will be conscious, so Dr. Wagner can speak to you. However, you may not remember anything about your treatment.
IV Sedation
Our periodontal/implant specialist, Dr. Brian Young, is fully licensed to provide oral sedation and IV sedation. With IV sedation, also called twilight sedation, we can reduce or increase the amount of sedation you receive while you’re in the chair, so your level of comfort is always appropriate. Some patients do drift off to sleep with IV sedation, but almost all have no memories of what happened during their appointments.
